My name is Melody (she/her). I am a wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. 

It was when my first grandchild was born in 2017 that I truly came to understand the importance of a doula. After this it became my goal to pursue the education and training to take on this role assisting new parents through the birth and postpartum journey. With changes in my life the opportunity finally opened up for me to do this in the last year.

As a postpartum Doula, I am looking forward to offering support, care, understanding, and encouragement as you adjust to life with your tiny new family member. 

As a DONA International trained birth doula, and Canadian Doula Academy trained postpartum doula I am encouraged and excited by the shift in focus regarding birth, encouraging professionals to listen to the birthing parent, and postpartum support that have come about in the 30+ years since having given birth myself. 

I am currently working towards being a certified Postpartum Doula with the Canadian Doula Academy (CDA).
